Monovision
As
a person ages, the eye loses it’s
ability to focus. This is called presbyopia
. It becomes noticeable in the 40’s
and progresses as you age. Reading glasses
or bifocals are one solution to this
inevitable
problem. Monovision is another.
Monovision is a method of creating clear vision
for distance and near. One eye is corrected
to see distance clearly and the other is corrected
for near. This is successful in 75% of people.
15% do not like it. 10% are able to adapt. It
depends on the ability of the visual part of
the brain to interpret visual information from
the eyes. It does not create nausea or dizziness.
